OHV & Cast-Iron Cylinder Sleeve

Briggs & Stratton fit the Vanguard with a float-feed carburetor designed to commercial specification. The additional internal fuel passages give it better resistance to the kind of load fluctuations that can cause cheaper carburetors to stumble — important on equipment like pressure washers and generators where the load can change rapidly and without warning.

TransportGuard™ System

Petrol-powered hire equipment is routinely damaged by operators transporting it without shutting off the fuel, allowing fuel to reach the crankcase and dilute the oil. TransportGuard solves this with a single lever that cuts both the ignition and the fuel supply simultaneously. It takes one movement and removes the dependency on the operator remembering a separate step. The system is exclusive to Vanguard engines producing between 3.7 and 10.4kW gross.

Oil Alert (Low Oil Shutdown)

When oil pressure drops below a safe threshold, the engine shuts itself down before internal damage can occur. On commercial and hire equipment operated by different people — not all of whom will check the oil before starting — this is a worthwhile safety net rather than just a convenience feature.

Super Lo-Tone Muffler Included

A Super Lo-Tone muffler comes fitted as standard. Many engines at this price point are sold without one, which means sourcing a compatible unit separately before the engine can be used. Having it included saves that step and reduces noise levels during operation.

Metal Fuel Tank

The 3.6-litre metal tank mounts directly to the engine block. Compared to plastic, metal is less prone to permeation emissions and better suited to the knocks and vibration that come with prolonged use on construction or agricultural equipment.
