The Briggs & Stratton 5210 PX OHV is a single-cylinder, 540cc petrol engine built for ride-on mowers and garden tractors that need a dependable, higher-output replacement. Producing 20.7HP / 15.4kW gross and 37.59Nm of torque at 3600rpm, it delivers more than enough power for heavy-duty domestic and light commercial cutting work. Electric start, full pressure lubrication and a cast-iron cylinder sleeve put it firmly in the upper tier of single-cylinder engines in this class.

OHV & Cast-Iron Cylinder Sleeve

Overhead valve technology runs cooler and more efficiently than a side-valve equivalent at the same displacement. The Dura-Bore cast-iron cylinder sleeve resists bore wear over time, keeping compression consistent and extending the engine's working life — particularly important on machines that see regular heavy use through the cutting season.

Full Pressure Lubrication with Oil Filter

Oil is actively pumped under pressure to the engine's critical components, rather than relying on splash contact. Combined with the spin-on oil filter, this keeps internal parts properly protected and extends service intervals. Oil capacity is approximately 1.4 litres.

AVS® Anti-Vibration System

The built-in AVS system reduces mechanical vibration felt by the operator and absorbed by the machine's frame. On a ride-on mower used for long sessions, this improves comfort and reduces wear on the chassis and connected components over time.

Electric Start & 9-Amp Charging System

Starting is by electric starter motor. The 9-amp charging system keeps the battery maintained during use and supports 12V accessories such as electric PTOs, headlights and dashboard electrics commonly found on ride-on machinery.

Built-In Fuel Pump

The integrated fuel pump draws fuel from the machine's remote-mounted tank — the standard arrangement on ride-on mowers and garden tractors where the tank is not directly mounted on the engine.

Fitment & Compatibility

The vertical crankshaft measures 25.4mm (1 inch) in diameter and 80.19mm (3.15 inches) in length — a widely used configuration across ride-on mower and garden tractor platforms. This engine has no muffler or fuel tank included.
